Fee for application: $90
Please keep in mind that if you apply to more than one discipline, you will be charged an extra application fee for each discipline you apply to. You will not be considered for a position until you have submitted all of the needed materials, including this fee.

 

STATEMENT OF THE NARRATIVE

The narrative statement is a critical component of your application. This document should be no more than three pages long, double spaced, 12-point font, and saved as a PDF, with your name, discipline, and “Fall 2022” at the top of each page.
Each of the following points should be addressed in your narrative statement:

Tell us about yourself and your unique storey. What shaped your personality? What are the aspects of the stories you wish to convey that are most significant to you? Outside of your CV, the purpose is to get to know you as a storyteller. american film institute in los angeles

Why are you interested in this particular discipline? In that field, who/what/what inspires you?

The A-F-I  is a collaborative learning setting where students can get their hands dirty. What has been your experience as a filmmaking collaborator?

How do you envision the A-F-I  assisting you in achieving your long-term career objectives?

RESUME

Your resume should detail your professional work, set experience, education level and degree(s) earned (please see additional information in the TRANSCRIPTS section about listing education in your resume).

TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Within the institute  afi  online application, please list the names of two people who will provide recommendations (along with valid e-mail addresses for both). A link to the  afi  application portal will be emailed to the recommenders. Please check with your recommenders to make sure they’ve completed the online recommendation because your application won’t be considered until they’ve done so. Only direct contributions from the recommender will be accepted. The applicant’s submissions will not be taken into consideration. Hard copies of letters will not be accepted.

TRANSCRIPTS

scores acceptance rate for the Applicants without an acquired undergraduate degree or equivalency may be eligible to apply to be an Associate Fellow in the programme. The Conservatory determines eligibility for the programme as an Associate Fellow based on the applicant’s demonstrated extraordinary skill through a track record in his/her/their area and a required number of years of applicable experience.

Applicants acceptance rates must meet the following requirements:

Complete the whole application, including any discipline-specific requirements; Provide documentation of a minimum of three years of professional experience and achievements;

Demonstrate the maturity required to engage in a graduate level programme (and apply at least four years after graduating from in the United States or secondary education overseas). scores acceptance rate

Associate Fellows must satisfy all of the requirements and commitments that degree-seeking Fellows must meet. After successfully completing all requirements of the AFI Conservatory programme in their specific discipline, Associate Fellows are granted Certificates of Completion.

AFI SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The AFI Conservatory is a non-profit organisation that serves all people regardless of their financial circumstances. Scholarships or financial need are not taken into account throughout the admissions process, and they will never be used as a deciding factor in an applicant’s admissions decision.

If you want to be considered for a scholarship after you’ve submitted your admissions application, please fill out this form by February 1, 2022. This form will be sent immediately to the Financial Aid staff at the AFI Conservatory. After an admissions decision has been made, notification of scholarship awards will be sent out, and admitted Fellows will be notified whether or not they have been given a scholarship. staff

Domestic and international applications are also considered for the AFI Scholarship. Applications received after the deadline may not be considered.

 

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

 

If English is not the applicant’s first language, he or she must submit an English proficiency score. Applications will not be considered if the minimal test score is not met. There are no exceptions. The TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo tests are accepted by the AFI Conservatory. B886* is the TOEFL code. 9760 is the IELTS code. Please keep in mind that TOEFL scores are forwarded to our application system, GradCAS, rather than to AFI directly for processing.

Please allow enough time for test scheduling and results distribution.

The minimal TOEFL score is 100 on the Internet-based test (IBT), 250 on the computer-based test (CBT), or 600 on the paper-based test (PBT) (PBT). A minimum IELTS score of 7.0 is required. Duolingo requires a minimum score of 125. Please allow enough time for test scheduling and results distribution.

The applicant’s scores are not considered official.

The deadline for qualifying test scores is December 1, 2021.
